Synchro PEI's 2018 Awards Banquet

Congratulations to all Synchro PEI Athletes for a wonderful and successful year! We would also like to thank the parents, coaches, volunteers, and the Synchro PEI board members; we wouldn't have been able to accomplish everything this past season without your gracious help. Our End of the Year Awards Banquet was held on June 4, 2018 at the Old Triangle in Charlottetown, PE. The awards were presented to the following recipients:

Most Improved Athlete - Eve MacCormac

Solo of the Year - Grace Lloyd

Duet of the Year - Chloe Flynn & Mackenzie Williams

Trio of the Year - Chloe Flynn, Grace Lloyd & Mackenzie Williams

Team of the Year - Freya Hashem, Samantha Lamont, Sara MacDonald, MacKenzie MacLeod, Adrienne Scales & Ella Storey

Coach of the Year - Heather MacLean

Volunteer of the Year - Bridgett MacCormac

Congratulations to all recipients for their hard work and dedication throughout the 2017-2018 season. We were also joined by representatives from the Bell Aliant Centre, Y's Men and ADL. Synchro PEI would like to thank all representatives for their support. We would like to make a special thanks to the Y's Men who have supported us for many years. Synchro PEI volunteers help with various fundraisers for the Y's Men throughout the year, including the Y's Men's Food Drive and Old Home Week Parking. The Y's Men gave us a generous donation of $2,600, and we would like to express our appreciation for all their generosity.

Senior Athletes, Chloe Flynn & Mackenzie Williams, prepared a farewell speech before they depart their journey as athletes into the next stage of their lives. Their speech included heartfelt memories, shared experiences, encouraging words to younger athletes, and thank yous to all individuals involved in their synchro family.

Lastly to finish off the night, Guest Speaker Jane Bondt shared her experiences throughout her many years growing up in the synchro community. She shared stories of the old Charlottetown YMCA, dealing with her experience as one of the youngest members on her team, and creating friendships that will last a lifetime. Jane also brought synchro scrapbooks created by her mother that show a great deal of history in our synchronized swimming community. Thank you Jane for sharing your wonderful knowledge and experiences with our athletes and volunteers.
